Available Immunizations
All required vaccines and many recommended vaccines are available at the Health Department. Some are free of charge for certain high-risk groups and others are available for a fee. Persons paying for a vaccine will be given a receipt that can be submitted to his/her health insurance provider.
Vaccine Spotlight - HPV
By getting your child (ages 9 to 26) vaccinated against the human papilloma virus (HPV), you will be protecting them from most of the cancers caused by this infection. HPV infection can also cause other specific types of cancer and genital warts in both men and women. Learn more about HPV and how you can protect your child (PDF).
Child Immunization Update
Immunizations required by North Carolina Immunization Law have been available free of charge to all children. Due to budget cuts at the state level, the availability of free childhood vaccines will be more limited. Children with Medicaid or who are uninsured will continue to be able to receive free vaccines.
Children with health insurance coverage that does not cover the entire cost of vaccines are those who are most likely to have to pay. We will make every effort to keep our vaccine availability and pricing information up to date. We will advise parents of charges before vaccines will be administered.
