Overdose Prevention Services

Help for people who use opioids or heroin

We offer these free services to keep everyone safe. Naloxone kits and syringe exchanges are at our clinics. Drug drop off boxes are in many places in Orange County.

Naloxone kits 

Naloxone can reverse an overdose from drugs such as oxycodone, methadone, or heroin. When you pick up a naloxone kit, we will teach you how to use it.

  • Each kit includes: 
    • Instructions
    • Local resource information
    • 2 doses of nasal naloxone
    • Fentanyl test strips
    • Xylazine test strips
  • If your kit expires or you need a new one, call (919) 245-2400.

Safe syringe initiative

Syringe exchange programs lower the risk of HIV and other infections. You can also find out how to get treatment for substance abuse.  Learn more about our Safe Syringe Initiative on this page.
