2023 Direct Care Worker Awards

Orange County Department on Aging and the Senior Health Advocacy and Resource Partners of Orange County (SHARP) honored thirty-eight individuals for their outstanding service in long-term care on Thursday, November 9th during a hybrid Direct Care Worker Award ceremony.

Bonnie Hammersley, Orange County Manager, recognized all thirty-eight nominees including six individuals who received the following 2023 SHARP Direct Care Worker awards:

Longevity: Nancy Haskins – Carol Woods Retirement Community
Rising Star: McKenna Graf – CareYaya
Client Impact: Andrea Quash – Homewatch Caregivers of the Triangle  
Going the Extra Mile: Brandi Davis – Carol Woods Retirement Community
Leadership: Angel Ledford – Soltys Place
Direct Care Worker of the Year: Taylor Riddle – Homewatch Caregivers of the Triangle

About the Event

This event recognizes direct care workers (nurse aides, personal care aides, companion caregivers, etc.) who served clients in Orange County within the past year, making a difference in their clients’ lives on a daily basis and in the community.
