Fixed Routes

These routes are operated by Orange County Public Transportation and are open to the general public.

Hillsborough Circulator  Fare-free service within Hillsborough Route Map (PDF) 

The Hillsborough Circulator is fare-free and connects major origins and destinations throughout Hillsborough with hourly service. The Circulator runs Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Orange - Alamance Connector $2, service to Hillsborough, Efland, Mebane, Route Map (PDF) 

The Orange-Alamance Connector service connects major origins and destinations in Hillsborough, Efland and Mebane (western Orange County) with hourly service provided in both the eastbound (Mebane-Efland-Hillsborough) and westbound (Hillsborough-Efland-Mebane) directions. The route operates Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. 

The OA is $2 for the general public, $1 for children ages 6-17; free to seniors (60 and up), children (0-5) and persons with disabilities(must be ADA certified with OCPT or show valid certificate from another transit agency). *Please provide exact fare. Operators cannot provide change.*

Orange-Chapel Hill Connector (OCH)  $2, provides mid-day service Monday through Friday to Cedar Grove, Chapel Hill, Route Map (PDF) See GoTriangle Route 420 for service in this area during peak travel times.
 

The Orange-Chapel Hill Midday Connector is also known as the "Hill to Hill." This service connects major origins and destinations in Hillsborough, Chapel Hill and Cedar Grove (northern Orange County) with hourly service provided in both the northbound (Chapel Hill-Hillsborough-Cedar Grove) and southbound (Cedar Grove-Hillsborough-Chapel Hill) directions. The OCH runs hourly Monday-Friday from 9:45 a.m. - 3:50 p.m. 

$2 for the general public, $1 for students aged 6-17;  Free to Seniors (60+), children (0-5) and persons with disabilities (must be ADA certified with OCPT or show valid certificate from another transit agency). *Please provide exact fare. Operators cannot provide change.*

GoTriangle is the regional transit provider serving Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and surrounding areas. GoTriangle has two routes that serve Hillsborough, NC:

  • ODX (Orange-Durham Express)
    Express route serving Efland, Mebane, Hillsborough, and Durham in mornings and evenings
    No fares are being collected at this time due to the pandemic.

  • Route 420 
    Operated by Chapel Hill Transit, provides morning and late afternoon service from Hillsborough to Chapel Hill
    No fares are being collected at this time due to the pandemic.

Chapel Hill Transit serves the Town of Chapel Hill, the University of North Carolina, and Carrboro. All public routes are fare-free.
