[ARCHIVED] Orange County announces closings for Independence Day

Orange County Government will be closed Monday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day. County administrative offices will be closed.

Please note the following exceptions:

  • On Saturday, July 3, all Solid Waste and Recycling services will operate as usual. On Sunday, July 4, the Waste and Recycling Centers, Landfill, and Administrative Offices will be closed. On Monday, July 5, the Landfill and the Eubanks and Walnut Grove Waste and Recycling Centers will be open. Curbside recycling will be collected on the normal schedule.
  • The COVID vaccine clinics in Hillsborough and Chapel Hill will be closed Saturday, July 3, through Monday, July 5. They will reopen Tuesday.
  • COVID testing sites will also be closed on Monday, July 5.
  • OCPT will operate limited service serving the in-county dialysis route only (Carolina Dialysis).
