[ARCHIVED] Orange County announces closings for Christmas, New Year's holidays

Orange County government will be closed from Thursday, Dec. 23, through Monday, Dec. 27, in observance of Christmas. County offices will also be closed Friday, Dec. 31, in observance of New Year's Day. The county will operate its normal schedule on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Dec. 28-30) and will resume normal operations on Monday, Jan. 3.

Please note that the tax office will be closed Friday, Dec. 31. The last day to make in-person payments to the tax office so they will be displayed as paid in the 2021 calendar year is Thursday, Dec. 30. Payments must be placed in the dropbox located outside the tax office door (Gateway Center, 228 S. Churton Street, Hillsborough) before 4:30 p.m. that day.

OCPT will operate limited service serving the in-county dialysis route only (Carolina Dialysis) on Dec. 23-24 and Dec. 27 and again on Friday, Dec. 31.

Testing, vaccines availability

The county vaccination sites will be closed during the holidays, but the testing location in Hillsborough will be open on Thursday, Dec. 23, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and again on Sunday, Dec. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
