Orange County announced Thursday the Register of Deeds and Tax offices will be closed Friday, Jan. 15, due to a potential COVID exposure among staff. As a result, both offices at 228 S. Churton Street, Hillsborough, will be closed to the public on Friday for cleaning.

No staff member has tested positive for the virus.

The offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 18, due to the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday. Both offices are expected to reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

On Friday, Tax staff will be available by phone at 919-245-2100, via email at tax@orangecountync.gov, or online chat service on our website: https://www.orangecountync.gov/842/Chat

Residents may place non-cash tax payments and forms, applications, or correspondence in the drop box located at the door to our office.
