The Orange County Criminal Justice Resource Department received two major honors at the recent Justice Initiatives event in Mecklenburg County. Justice Initiatives is a North Carolina non-profit based in Charlotte that supports court education and engagement with the community.
For 13 years, Justice Initiatives has honored an individual with the “Raise the Bar” Award for significant and notable contributions to the advancement of the local court system. The mission of Justice Initiatives is to educate the community about the court system and to advocate, support, and advance its needs and interests. This year, Justice Initiatives chose Ted Dorsi with Pretrial Release Services for the individual award and recognized the Orange County Criminal Justice Resources Department (CJRD) with its first organizational award.
"Ted is so deserving of this recognition as he works tirelessly to support and assess individuals that are booked in the Detention Center and supervise those who are released to Pretrial Services," said Caitlin Fenhagen, Orange County Criminal Justice Resources Department Director. "The partnership he has with the Sheriff’s Office and judicial officials is critical to his success and the work of the CJRD."
