[ARCHIVED] Orange County Ag Summit to be held Feb. 11

The Orange County Ag Summit (Growing the Local Market: Exploring Markets for the Future) will be held Monday, Feb. 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Community Center.

The annual event is co-sponsored by Orange County Economic Development and Orange County Cooperative Extension Services. The daylong summit brings together farmers and speakers on a variety of topics important to the agriculture industry in Orange County.

Dr. Sandy Stewart, Assistant Commissioner of Agriculture & Consumer Services for North Carolina Department of Agriculture, will discuss the Farm Bill.

Other sessions will cover Agricultural Grants available from Orange County Economic Development, the potential of industrial hemp farming, Understanding Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) Certification Assistance Program and many more. Registration is free.
