The Orange County Tax Administration Office located on the 2nd floor of the Gateway Building at 228 South Churton St., Hillsborough, will be temporarily shut down on Thursday, September 5th, and Friday, September 6th to complete the installation of a new air conditioning unit for the 2nd floor.
The replacement of the new air conditioning unit requires using a crane, which means that for the morning of Thursday, September 5th, the entire Gateway Building will need to be vacated for safety. The Register of Deeds, located on the 3rd floor of the Gateway Building will be closed during this period and will reopen as soon as the crane is removed. It is estimated that the Register of Deeds will be open by 11 a.m. on Thursday.
