The Orange County Department on Aging and the Project EngAGE Mental Wellness Senior Resource Team invite the public to attend a community education program, “What’s the Deal with Deprescribing?” on Tue., Jun 4.
Did you know that some medication can do more harm than good, especially as we get older? Polypharmacy, taking five or more medications, can negatively impact our health including the way we feel, increasing our fall risk, and much more.
Join Dr. Caroline Sasser with UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, accompanied by Monash University pharmacy students who are taught by the leading experts in deprescribing in Australia. We will learn what deprescribing means and talk about the importance of medication management as we age, risks of polypharmacy, reducing prescriptions, and improving health outcomes for older adults.
The event will take place on Tue., Jun 4, from 4 - 5:30 pm, at the Seymour Center, located at 2551 Homestead Road in Chapel Hill.
Register by Mon, Jun 3 with the Seymour Center front desk at 919-968-2070.
