Jamezetta Bedford was re-elected on Dec. 4 as Chair of the Orange County Board of Commissioners for 2024. Sally Greene was elected as Vice Chair. She replaces Commissioner Earl McKee. Both votes were unanimous.
“Thank you for your confidence, and we look forward to next year and getting a lot of work done, just like we have this fall,” said Bedford.
“I appreciate this honor and the trust you have in me and I’ll do my best to live up to it,” said Greene.
Commissioner Anna Richards was chosen to serve as the Board’s voting delegate at the National Association of Counties. Commissioner Phyllis Portie-Ascott was chosen as the county’s voting delegate for the North Carolina Association of Counties.
Orange County is a dues-paying member of both organizations.
