[ARCHIVED] Arts Commission & Hillsborough Arts Council to host 2nd annual Paint it Orange Plein Air Paint Out

Paint It Orange entry

The Orange County Arts Commission, in partnership with the Hillsborough Arts Council, will host the Second Annual Paint it Orange: Plein Air Paint-out and Wet Paint Sale from  Oct. 19-21.

Artists are invited to spend three days painting the sites and landscapes of Orange County en plein air (in open air). On Sunday, Oct. 21, artists will submit up to three of their best paintings for juroring by acclaimed painter Chad Smith. Cash prizes will be awarded at an awards reception at C3 Hillsborough, a new coworker space located at 128 N. Churton Street in Downtown Hillsborough, at 6 p.m. The “Wet Paint Sale” will immediately follow, offering patrons the opportunity to purchase original paintings of their favorite locations throughout Orange County. The sale will continue through the end of November at both C3 and the Hillsborough Arts Council, as well as Last Fridays Art Walk on Friday, Oct. 26.

Artists may view a complete schedule and register online at www.artsorange.org/pleinair. Registration is $30. Host homes are available for out of town artists.

This event is sponsored by Fox Hill Farm, Jerry’s Artarama, Town of Hillsborough Tourism Development Authority, Mace Construction, and the Orange Chatham Association of Realtors.
