[ARCHIVED] Orange County Ag Summit, Growing Fresh Futures, scheduled for Feb. 20

Cedar Grove Community Center Collage

As world leaders address the challenge of feeding the earth’s growing population, Orange County is providing entrepreneurs with both the inspiration and the resources to find solutions.

Each year, Orange County and its North Carolina Cooperative Extension department host a one-day seminar bringing together farmers and suppliers, government officials, and other specialists to explore the state of farming in Orange County and contiguous counties, discussing topics and trends that are impacting our agricultural industry.

This year, the Orange County Agricultural Summit will be held on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Cedar Grove Community Center. The conference will conclude at 2 p.m. after a complimentary lunch – locally sourced, of course.

The 2023 Summit will explore, among other issues:

  • Agritourism
  • Animal Agriculture (health and processing)
  • Farm Finances and Grant Opportunities
  • Land Use Topics
  • An area Mobile Poultry Processing Unit Tour
  • Updates from partners,
  • and more!

Keynotes will be presented by NC Farm Bureau President Shawn Harding and USDA Farm Service Agency State Executive Director Bob Etheridge.

Agriculture is a vital part of the economy and quality of life in Orange County.

In addition to updates, regional vendors will display their goods and services.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for Feb. 27. All registrants will be notified in advance should a change of date be required.
