[ARCHIVED] Orange County to host “Faith Breakfast” to promote faith community connections and resource sharing

Project Engage Logo

The Orange County Department on Aging and the Project EngAGE Faith Outreach Senior Resource Team invite the public to attend our virtual Quarterly Faith Breakfast on Sept 14.

Much as our hunger signals our need to eat, our thirst signals our need to drink water, our loneliness can be a signal for reconnection. There is compelling evidence that the health risk of social isolation is comparable to the risks of smoking, high blood pressure and obesity.  While our abilities to connect socially have forced many of us to seek alternative ways of staying engaged with one another, it is more important now than ever before that we strive to do so.

We cordially invite all members of Orange County’s faith organizations, as well as anyone interested, to our next virtual quarterly breakfast meeting. We will be joined by Kim Lamon-Loperfido and Myra Austin from Orange County Department on Aging. Kim and Myra will present valuable information and resources on how to combat social isolation during the COVID pandemic and how faith communities can support their congregants and caregivers. While we can’t meet together and share breakfast as normal, we hope that you will bring your coffee, tea, and favorite breakfast meal and join our virtual event.

The Faith Outreach initiative aims to connect Orange County’s diverse faith communities, and to bring them essential information, education, and opportunities.

Presenters include:

  • Myra Austin, OCDoA Senior Centers Division Administrator
  • Kim Lamon-Loperfido, OCDoA Aging Transitions Administrator

The event will take place on Monday, Sept 14, from 9 – 11 a.m. via GoToMeeting virtual platform. Please see information for joining below:
