The Orange County Opioid Advisory Committee is proud to announce the opening of the grant cycle for distributing opioid settlement funds. The funds come from national opioid settlement agreements and will support community organizations as they implement programs to address the opioid crisis and improve recovery services for Orange County residents. The grant application period will run from December 16, 2024, through February 21, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. Local organizations are encouraged to apply for funding to support innovative programs focused on prevention, treatment, recovery, and public education.
Grant Objectives:
- Prevention: Initiatives to curb opioid misuse, particularly among vulnerable populations.
- Treatment: Expanding access to effective, evidence-based care for those impacted by opioid use disorder.
- Recovery: Providing support for sustainable recovery efforts, including housing, peer support, and vocational training.
- Education and Awareness: Promoting public understanding and reducing stigma around opioid addiction and recovery.
“This grant cycle represents a significant opportunity to empower our community to combat the opioid crisis with tailored, effective solutions,” said Tonya Stancil, Harm Reduction Coordinator with the Orange County Health Department. “We are eager to collaborate with local organizations to address this critical issue and build stronger support systems.”
Grant Information Workshops:
The Health Department will host in-person workshops to guide applicants through the process and answer questions about eligibility and funding priorities.
