Orange County Government will be closed Monday, January 15 to observe Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Please note the following exceptions:
- Solid Waste: Monday, Jan 15, recycling will be collected on Tuesday, Jan. 16. For the remainder of the week, recycling collection will be delayed by one day. For the remainder of the week, recycling collection will be delayed by one day. The Waste and Recycling Centers, Orange County Landfill, and Solid Waste Administration Office will be closed on Monday, Jan 15.
- Animal Services: Will be closed Monday, Jan 15. They ask that, as always, people call 9-1-1 if they have an animal-related emergency when they are closed, such as animal bites to humans or exposure to rabies.
- Transportation Services: Will operate limited service serving the in-county dialysis route only (Carolina Dialysis Carrboro), on Monday, Jan 15. In order to provide two working days’ notice for scheduling, trip requests for Tuesday, Jan 16, must be received by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11.
- 9-1-1 Services: Will be available. Please only call 9-1-1 to report emergencies.
- Library: The Orange County Main Library in Hillsborough and the Cybrary will be closed on Monday, Jan 15.
The county will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
