Funding Opportunities
Many Orange County Departments provide grants and other funding opportunities for businesses, non-profits or individuals who live in Orange County or provide services to Orange County residents. This page will be updated frequently as grant programs are made available and will also include links to federal and state grant opportunities designated for Orange County.
Orange County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council
Organizations aiming to reduce youth violence and crime may be eligible for funding. To learn more and apply, please view the Orange County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council’s Request for Proposal (RFP) and RFP Program Type Descriptions for FY2024-25. Fund may be available for the following program types:
- Interpersonal skill building
- Mentoring
- Juvenile Structured Day
- Parent/Family Skill Building
- Teen Court
- Substance Abuse Treatment
- Restitution/Community Service
- Home-based family counseling
- Tutoring/Academic Enhancement
- Vocational Development
- Experiential Skill Building
- Mediation/Conflict Resolution
To apply for FY 2024-2025 JCPC funding, you must complete and submit your application online by accessing NC ALLIES. Please read and follow all instructions at: https://cp.ncdjjdp.org/CP.
Eligibility for funding: Local public agencies, 501c3 non-profit corporations and local housing authorities.
Deadline to apply: Feb. 9, 2024.
Agricultural Economic Development Grant Program
The Agricultural Economic Development Grant Program helps local farmers develop new sources of agricultural income through the provision of cost-share grants. Individual grant limit is $10,000. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that their operation is a verifiable farm business.

Eligibility for funding: The farm tract and farming operation on which the funds are to be used must be in Orange County, N.C.
Deadline to apply: Applications will be accepted quarterly as long as funds are available (March 31, June 30, Sept. 30, Dec. 31).
Orange County Business Investment Grants

The purpose of the Orange County Business Investment Grant Program is to stimulate successful non-farm Business Investment development and expansion in Orange County. Priority is given to ventures demonstrating a clear need for grant funds to grow their business, hire additional staff, grow the commercial tax base, and/or create a significant social and economic impact in the county.
START-UP GRANT (up to $1,500)
Intended for applicants that have been in operation for six months or less and have a connection with business counseling services through organizations such as Launch, Piedmont Food Processing Center, Midway Business Center, Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC), Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), Durham Tech Small Business Center, etc.
SMALL GRANT ($1,500.01 - $5,000)
Grant applications for $1,500.01 to $5,000.00 are intended for applicants that have been operational for at least six months.
LARGE GRANT ($5,000.01 – $10,000)
Grant applications for $5,000.01 or more are intended for applicants that have been operational for at least one year and will require additional financial information and a formal business plan. Should market conditions change, or an applicant has extraordinary conditions, a grant amount exceeding the maximum may be considered by the subcommittee. All grants are subject to availability of funds.
