Accessibility Resources & Services

Orange County is committed to making sure all residents can use our programs and services. If you need help with language access or an ADA accommodation, our office can provide support at no cost to you.

Language Access Services

We provide free services, so language is never a barrier to County services:

  • Interpreters for meetings, events, or phone calls
  • Translation of forms and documents into top spoken languages in Orange County
  • Bilingual staff support where available

To request language help, contact us at (919) 245-2594 or civilrights@orangecountync.gov. Please tell us the language you need.

ADA and Reasonable Accommodations

If you need support to access a County service, you can request:

  • Documents in accessible formats (large print, Braille, screen-reader friendly)
  • Sign language interpreters for public meetings or programs
  • Physical access accommodations for buildings and events
  • Other reasonable modifications to make sure you can participate

To request an ADA accommodation, contact us at (919) 245-2594 or email civilrights@orangecountync.gov. Please make requests as early as possible so we can best assist you. If you use a relay service, you can dial 711.

Digital Accessibility

We are working to make our website and online services easier for everyone to use.

  • Our website follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA.
  • We use plain language and accessible formats.
  • If you find a digital barrier, please let us know.

Your Rights

By law, you have the right to:

  • Use County services without discrimination
  • Ask for language support or reasonable accommodations
  • Receive information in a format you can understand

We will never ask about your immigration status or share your request outside the County unless required by law.
