Orange County does not discriminate on the basis of disability in any of its programs, services, or activities. We provide reasonable modifications and auxiliary aids/services so people with disabilities can participate equally.
Effective Communication
Upon request, Orange County will provide aids and services to support effective communication, including:
- Qualified sign language interpreters
- Documents in accessible formats (e.g., large print, Braille, screen-reader friendly)
- Other methods as needed for people with speech, hearing, or vision disabilities
Reasonable Modifications to Policies and Procedures
We make reasonable modifications to policies and programs to ensure equal opportunity to enjoy County programs, services, and activities. For example, service animals are welcome in County offices, even where pets are generally prohibited.
What the ADA Requires—and Its Limits
The ADA does not require actions that would fundamentally alter a program or impose an undue financial or administrative burden. We will always seek an alternative that is effective and feasible.
