24-Hour Recycling Drop-off Sites
Locations
Orange County operates three recycling drop-off locations that are free and available to residents and businesses 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for the collection of conventional single-stream recycling and corrugated cardboard only.
Glass On The Side containers have expanded to all 24 hr drop off sites! We are now asking residents to separate their glass bottles and jars from their other recyclable materials.
- Cedar Falls Park: One mile east of Martin Luther King Boulevard on Weaver Dairy Road
- 401 Weaver Dairy Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516
- Hampton Pointe: Behind Home Depot, Highway 86 in Hillsborough
- 625 Hampton Pointe Blvd, Hillsborough, NC 27278
- Meadowmont: Behind Harris Teeter
- 116 West Barbee Chapel Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517
Restrictions
- Never leave items on the ground or garbage in the recycling containers as that constitutes illegal dumping and can result in a citation or fine. Residents can bring residential household garbage and a wide range of other materials for proper disposal, recycling and reuse to Solid Waste and Recycling Centers.
- Never place plastic bags in any of the dumpsters at the recycling drop-off sites! If you use plastic bags to collect your recyclables please remove them and discard the bag elsewhere. Clean, dry plastic bags can be recycled at local grocery stores.
