Orange County departments and local government partner organizations often solicit public feedback on a variety of issues. Listed below are the current opportunities available to residents to provide their thoughts and comments to help guide policymakers in their decisions.

Notice of Public Hearing and 30-Day Public Comment Period on the Draft FY25 Annual Work Program.

This is to inform the public of the release for the FY25 Annual Work Program. The draft will be available for public review on the Orange County website see the QR Code below or in the administrative office of Orange Public Transportation located at 606 Highway 86 N, Hillsborough, NC, 27278. A 30-day public comment period on the draft plan will begin Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, and terminate Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024.

The public hearing will be held on February 20, 2024, at 7:00 P.M. before the Orange County  Board of Commissioners at Southern Human Services Center- 2501 Homestead Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516.

Provide feedback on the draft annual budgets for the Orange County transit plan

The draft budget is created annually to meet the goals that were set forth in the 2022 Orange County Transit Plan. It include funds for operations, such as increased bus frequency, and for capital expenditures, such as bus stop improvements, among other transit needs.

Strategic Plan seeking community feedback

The community engagement webpage for Orange County's strategic plan lays out goals and objectives for the long term. This plan’s success depends on input from our community members, people who know and love Orange County and have a vested interest in making it an even better place. Please complete a short survey and share your thoughts on the ideas wall about how the Board of Commissioners should prioritize community health, transportation, education, economic development, protecting the environment and affordable housing.
