Orange County Recognizes International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Jan. 27

Home - News & Events Posted on January 27, 2026

Today, Jan. 27, Orange County recognizes International Holocaust Remembrance Day, honoring and remembering the millions of lives lost during the Holocaust and reflecting on the lasting impact of intolerance, hatred, and antisemitism.

As part of this observance, Orange County will participate in the Holocaust Remembrance Initiative tonight by illuminating two County buildings in yellow: the Seymour Senior Center and the Orange County Historical Courthouse. The lighting serves as a symbol of remembrance, reflection, and solidarity with communities around the world.

Together, we stand against hate in all its forms and reaffirm our commitment to building a compassionate and respectful community—one that leads with empathy, understanding, and a dedication to remembering history so it is never repeated.
