OutLoud Flash Mob Seeks Places to Perform Schedule a free surprise Flash Mob performance at your business or special event. Our OutLoud Flash Mob can also provide a short pre-routine lesson and then “call” the routine moves so that your employees can participate. To schedule, call 919-280-2161. Our OutLoud Flash Mob began spring 2017 aiming to add more activity to our lives and to bring smiles to the community with pop-up performances. What is a Flash Mob? Flash mobs take place all over the world in public places at locations known only to the performers. Participants actually look like everyone else -- food servers, shoppers, tourists. When the music starts, they come together from many directions to perform a dance routine they learned in class. As the dance progresses, some performers wait and add themselves to the group so they look like they were only “observers” who decided to join in.

This gathering, which takes place at the Seymour Center in Chapel Hill, is part of a collaborative project that relies on the input of care partners, who are invited to participate on a limited basis. Participation is free and registration is required. Please email Lisa Meinert or call 919-245-4251 to discuss eligibility details and whether this is a good fit for you and the person you are caring for.

Voluntary Stopping Of Eating And Drinking (VSED) - A Little Known End Of Life OptionAs modern technology prolongs our lives, a life well-lived can often end with a long and painful struggle. Increasingly there are choices available about end-of-life options that afford greater personal control over the time and manner of death. A “good death” is more likely when medical practitioners and those supporting the dying person are more informed about these options. The Project EngAGE End of Life Choices Senior Resource Team proudly hosts Elliott and Susan Schaffer for a discussion on the medical, ethical and legal issues involving VSED, Voluntary Stopping of Eating and Drinking - a little known end of life option. They will share the end of life story of Susan’s mother, Beatrice Belopolsky, a resident of a retirement community in New Jersey. Elliott Schaffer, MD, is a retired geriatrician who was formerly the Medical Director at Martins Run Life Care Community in Media, Pa. Susan Schaffer, JD, is a retired attorney who was formerly Senior Counsel at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals. Register by: Tue, Jun 25 at 919-245-2015 Fee: FREE Passmore Center Thu, Jun 27; 5 - 7 pm
