The Orange County Department on Aging and the Project EngAGE End of Life Choices Senior Resource Team invite the public to attend a discussion on Cultural Practices of Death and Dying on January 22.
Cultures vary in how they conceptualize death and what happens when a person dies. While dying is a universal experience, the process by which we express grief, honor those who have died, and select an end-of-life practice varies. Join our panelists, representing End of Life Doulas, the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation, the Chapel Hill Zen Center, and the Judea Reform Congregation Chevra Kadisha, as we explore different cultural practices and gain a greater understanding of death and dying in America.
The event will take place on Wed, Jan 22, from 4 – 6 pm at the Passmore Center located at 103 Meadowlands Dr, Hillsborough.
Register by Tue, Jan 21. To register, please call the Seymour Center front desk at 919-245-2015. Maximum attendance: 50.
