The Orange County Department on Aging and the Project EngAGE End of Life Choices Senior Resource Team invite the public to attend a discussion on Cultural Practices of Death and Dying on November 11.
Cultures vary in how they conceptualize death and what happens when a person dies. While dying is a universal experience, the process by which we express grief, honor those who have died, and select an end-of-life practice varies. Join our panelists, representing End of Life Doulas, the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi Nation, the Chapel Hill Zen Center, and the Judea Reform Congregation Chevra Kadisha, as we explore different cultural practices and gain a greater understanding of death and dying in America.
This FREE event will take place on Tue, Nov 11 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at the Passmore Center located at 103 Meadowlands Dr, Hillsborough. Heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served.
Register by Sat, Nov 8 by calling the Passmore Center front desk at 919-245-2015. Maximum attendance: 50.
