The Man Behind the Counter is a compelling interview that delves into the pivotal moment in Civil Rights history when four courageous college students from North Carolina A&T State University took a stand against segregation at a lunch counter in Woolworths. The film follows award-winning filmmaker and producer Garrett Davis as he returns to the site where these events unfolded for an intimate interview with Charles Bess, the man who served the students that day.
