CLIMATE ACTION TOP 10 THINGS THE COUNTY SHOULD DO

Climate Change Mitigation Goals

  • On June 6th 2017, the Board of Orange County Commissioners passed a resolution to proportionally uphold the Paris Climate Agreement to reduce greenhouse gas emissions between 26 and 28 percent by 2025 from 2005 levels.
  • On September 5th 2017, the Board of Orange County Commissioners adopted a resolution to transition to a 100% renewable energy based economy by 2050.
  • On November 2nd 2023, the Board of Orange County Commissioners approved the Orange County Climate Action Plan which sets goals and strategies to address climate change. The top ten things the county should do, as stated in the Climate Action Plan, are below.
