Raise Your Voice to Transform Your Community
About the Youth Summit
Orange County youths are invited to a half-day event designed to uplift youth voices and support youth-led ideas for community change. The Raise Your Voice to Transform Your Community Youth Summit includes interactive activities focused on leadership, civic engagement, and creative problem-solving.
Registration is free, but required. Space is limited to 20 young people.

Event Details
- Date: Tuesday, March 3 (Election Day / Teacher Service Day)
- Time: 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Location: Orange County Public Library, 137 W. Margaret Ln., Hillsborough, NC 27278
- Who can attend: Youth ages 12–17
- Cost: Free
- Food: Food and drinks will be provided
What to Expect
Participants will take part in:
- An interactive workshop
- Team challenges
- Group discussions about community issues and solutions
Community Champion Recognition
One participant’s idea will be selected for recognition as Community Champion.
The selected youth will be recognized and awarded a $250 gift card at the 36th Annual Pauli Murray Awards on May 17, 2026.
All attendees will also be eligible for additional recognitions and prizes.
Facilitator
Hannah Preston, MPH is the founder of Influence NC. She created Influence NC to strengthen civic engagement and political literacy across North Carolina. Her work includes civic education, voter engagement, and advising elected officials on connecting with constituents.
