Black History Month in Orange County

Stop by the Main Library in Hillsborough (137 W. Margaret Lane) and discover Black westerns and romances, afrofantasy, Black poetry, and many other genres. 

Black History Month Biography Zine Making - All month at the Southern Branch in Carrboro (203 S. Greensboro St.), check out books from our Black History Month biography display and use what you learned to create your own mini-biography zine using our template. 

Storytime at the Main Library in Hillsborough – On Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 10:30 a.m., young children and their families are invited to storytime celebrating Black History Month. The books will focus on Black culture and written by Black authors. 

Black History Display in Youth Services – This book display will celebrate Black stories, featuring books from a variety of genres and for all young readers.

orange county department on aging logoThe following movies will be presented in honor of Black History Month at the Passmore Center. They will be shown on each Wednesday during the month of February in the following order, TILL; RACE; Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story; and Just Mercy. Free!
