Biography
Earl McKee is a member of a family which moved into Orange County in the mid 1800’s. He attended Orange County public schools and then received an Associate Degree in Agriculture from N.C. State University. After graduation, Earl returned to the family farm where he manages a diversified operation of crops, cattle and hay. He is married to Sandra Lloyd McKee of the Orange Grove community. Earl has been actively involved in his community throughout his life. He was elected as a Deacon and then Elder at Little River Presbyterian Church as well as being a member of and holding elected positions in various organizations such as the Jaycees, Orange County Farm Bureau and the Caldwell Fire Dept. which he helped form. Earl was elected to the Orange County Board of Commissioners as a District 2 representative in 2010 and was re-elected in 2014. He served as Board Vice-Chair in 2013 and 2014, and was elected Board Chair for 2015. Earl has served on the Orange County Planning Board and currently serves on several outside agencies including the Social Services Board, Community Oversight Board (part of OPC Community Operations Center), TJCOG (Triangle J Council of Governments), and the Fire Chief’s Association of Orange County. Earl is also a member of other internal workgroups and boards.
