Faith Outreach Quarterly Breakfast:
Seasonal Affective Disorder - How Your Faith Can Help Support You

Orange County Department on Aging, UNC Health Care and the Project EngAGE Faith Outreach Senior Resource Team cordially invites all members of Orange County faith organizations, as well as anyone interested, to its next quarterly breakfast meeting. Please join us and guest speaker Annie Deaver, Aging Administrator, Orange County Department for a presentation on Seasonal Affective Disorder. Learn how it can affect your mental wellness and how to get support from your faith.

The Faith Outreach Team's aim is to connect Orange County’s diverse faith communities, and to bring them essential information, education, and opportunities.

Holiday Jazz - Music to Your Ears

The sounds of holiday jazz and pizzazz will be music to your ears featuring Gary Brunotte & George Hindenach. Help prepare and serve lunch from 11:30 - 1:00 pm at the Seymour Center. Interested? Please call Isabel Jackson, 919-245-4256. 

 SENIOR LUNCH PROGRAM 

The Senior Lunch Program offers hot, nutritious meals at the Orange County Senior Centers each Monday through Friday at noon. Meals are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Orange County residents 60 years and older are invited to participate. For people under age 60, a meal costs $6. Voluntary and confidential donations for lunch are a very important part of the Program's budget which includes funding from the Older Americans Act, Orange County Government, and the Towns of Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Hillsborough.

Medicare Assistance

Welcome to Medicare!

Are you turning 65, and eligible for Medicare?  Do you feel overwhelmed by all the information “bombarding” you?  The Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) and the Orange County Department on Aging offer monthly sessions on Medicare - and all its parts.  Whether you are retiring soon, already retired or continuing to work, you’ll get valuable information including how and when to enroll, potential penalties for late enrollment, as well as Medicare’s costs, benefits and options.

This beloved holiday classic comes to life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. The story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve. It takes the help of a lovable angel to show George what life would be like if he hadn’t been born.  Join us for this joyous story of redemption that resonates with all ages. Selfie With an Elfie!

Join our spunky elves for selfies, cider, cookies, candy canes, and holiday tunes. Bring your cell phones to take as many selfies with the elfie as you’d like. In exchange for selfies, we ask that you bring and donate 1 breakfast food item to be delivered to the IFC Women’s Shelter. Donations should have an extended shelf life without refrigeration. Suggested items include: cereal, instant oatmeal or grits, pop tarts, pancake mix, syrup, jelly, honey, canned fruit, cereal bars, granola and etc.
