4. Proclamations/ Resolutions/ Special Presentations
a. Recognition of County Employee Retirements from July 1, 2021 through September 30, 2021
The Board recognized and expressed gratitude to recent County employee retirees for their devotion and service to Orange County and its residents.
6. Regular Agenda
a. Community Climate Action Grant (CCAG) – FY 2021-22 Project Selection for General Applicants
The Board:
1) Received the grant project funding recommendations from the Human Relations Commission (HRC) and the Commission for the Environment for the FY 2021-22 Orange County Community Climate Action Grant Program;
2) Approved funding for the recommended Community Climate Action Grant projects for FY 2021-22 as outlined in the attached report; and
3) Approved the request from the HRC to shift one point in the scoring rubric from “Time to Complete” to “Social Justice/ Racial Equity” in future rounds of grant funding. (Unanimous)
b. Establishment of a Schools Capital Needs Work Group
The Board established a Schools Capital Needs Work Group to review, consider and prioritize the capital needs for the Orange County Schools district and the Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools district. (Unanimous)
c. Establishment of a Library Services Task Force
The Board established a Library Services Task Force to collaborate on issues relating to the Town of Chapel Hill and Orange County library funding and inter-operability. (Unanimous)
d. Change in BOCC Meeting Schedule for 2021
The Board approved changes to the Board of Commissioners’ meeting calendar for 2021. This item was originally listed on the agenda as consent agenda item 8-i, but was moved to the regular agenda. (Approved 6-1, with Commissioner McKee dissenting)
e. Approval of Board of Commissioners Meeting Calendar for Year 2022
The Board approved the meeting schedule for the Board of Commissioners for calendar year 2022. This item was originally listed on the agenda as consent agenda item 8-j, but was moved to the regular agenda. (Unanimous)

a. Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness – 2021 Data Update
The Board reviewed updated data about homelessness in Orange County submitted to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) earlier this year.

h. Approval of the Management Services Agreement for the Piedmont Food Processing Center (Approved)
