    Do you have a hearing problem? Have you fallen recently? These two simple questions are the first step in assessing a patient’s hearing status. Dr Anita Carroll, AuD, Doctor of Audiology Hearing Solutions in the Triangle, PLLC will provide free screenings on October 21. Prior to the screenings, a presentation explaining the causes and symptoms of hearing loss will be offered from 11 – 12 p.m.

Each week you bring two ingredients (fruit, vegetable, or other item) and he will teach you how to create a meal. This is a hands-on class; everyone participates in the preparation of the meal.     The HRC hosts an annual community forum on a topic of interest. The 2019 Forum will be held Monday, October 28 from 7:00-8:30 pm at the Whitted Building, located at 300 W. Tryon St. The Forum will focus on rights under the First Amendment and feature legal experts Mark Dorosin, Ted Shaw, and Stephanie Perry-Terry. Mark Dorosin, Director of the Julius L. Chambers Center for Civil Rights and OC Board of County Commissioner Ted Shaw, Julius L. Chambers Distinguished Professor of Law and the Director of the UNC Center for Civil Rights Stephanie Perry-Terry, Small Business Owner and Community Activist The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
