The rural O.C. economy went from primary crops of cotton, tobacco, timber, then to dairy and eventually to beef cattle. With more than 50 million people, they are the largest minority group in the US. NOTE: FILMS ARE IN SPANISH WITH ENGLISH SUB-TITLES. Thu, Oct 17 – This details the creation of the proud “Chicano” identity as labor leaders organize farm workers in California, and as activists push for better education opportunities for Latinos, as well as the inclusion of Latino studies, and empowerment in the political process.
