ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE FOR SEPTEMBER 3 and 10, 2019
ORANGE COUNTY, NC (August 27, 2019) - Pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes, NCGS § 153A-40, the Orange County Board of Commissioners provides notice of the following special meetings.
• The Orange County Board of Commissioners has scheduled a special meeting on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. The meeting will be a Closed Session, starting at 5:00 p.m. and will be held at the Whitted Building, 300 W Tryon in Hillsborough. The Closed Session will be prior to the previously scheduled Regular Meeting which starts at 7:00 p.m. The items for discussion in the Closed Session fall within the three N.C. General Statutes listed below.
"To consult with an attorney retained by the Board in order to preserve the attorney-client privilege between the attorney and the Board,” G.S. § 143-318.11(a)(3).
“To discuss matters related to the location or expansion of industries or other businesses in the area served by the public body, including agreement on a tentative list of economic development incentives that may be offered by the public body in negotiations,” NCGS § 143-318.11(a)(4).
“To discuss the County’s position and to instruct the County Manager and County Attorney on the negotiating position regarding the terms of a contract to purchase real property,” NCGS § 143-318.11(a)(5).
• The Orange County Board of Commissioners has scheduled a special meeting on Tuesday, September 10, 2019. The meeting will be a Public Hearing, starting at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at the Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Road in Chapel Hill.
The purpose of the Public Hearing will be to receive public comment on proposed performance-based financial incentives agreement for Project Tomorrow in Mebane in the Buckhorn Economic Development District and for the Board to make a decision on the agreement.
Immediately after the Public Hearing, the Board will hold the previously scheduled Work Session.
