E-recordings, other services temporarily unavailable at Register of Deeds

Due to the ongoing recovery from the virus attack on the county’s computer network, several services are temporarily unavailable from the Register of Deeds.

• E-recordings (i.e. documents sent via the internet) cannot be processed. Staff can record documents that are delivered in-person or via mail or other courier service.
• Digital images of deed books via ROAM are unavailable to the public. Staff terminals can access those images and will provide paper copies to in-person customers.
• Public terminals in the Deed Vault are not operational except for the judgment terminals.

“We apologize for this inconvenience, and we hope to be running at full strength soon,” said Register of Deeds Mark Chilton.

The county does not have an estimate when services will be restored.
