Orange County under excessive heat warning for Friday, July 28; cooling centers open until 7 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Orange County from Noon to 7 p.m. for Friday, July 28. Cedar Grove, Efland-Cheeks and Rogers Road Community Centers and the Orange County Public Library will be open until 7 p.m. to serve as cooling centers.
Heat index is expected to reach 105 degrees. Avoid outdoor activities if possible and stay hydrated.
