4. Proclamations/ Resolutions/ Special Presentations
a. Black History Month Proclamation
The Board approved of a proclamation declaring February 2023 as Black History Month. (Unanimous)
b. OWASA Annual Update Presentation
The Board received a presentation and information from the Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) on recent activities.
5. Public Hearings
a. Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Text Amendment – Neighborhood Information Meetings
The Board held a public hearing, received the Planning Board and staff recommendations and public comment, closed the public hearing, and took action on staff-initiated amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) regarding proposed revisions to the current requirements for Neighborhood Information Meetings. (Approved 5-2, with Vice Chair McKee and Commissioner Hamilton dissenting.)
6. Regular Agenda
a. End of Food and Nutrition Pandemic Emergency Allocations and Unwinding of the Public Health Emergency Declaration and Approval of Budget Amendment #6-A
The Board received an update regarding the impacts of the Public Health Emergency (PHE) unwinding and reduction of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) benefits due to the end of emergency allocations, and approved time-limited staff positions and funds to assist recipients affected by this change through Budget Amendment #6-A. (Unanimous)
b. Approval of Police and Mental Health Collaborations for Diversion Programs Grant Staff Positions and Budget Amendment #6-B
The Board approved two new staff positions funded by the Police and Mental Health Collaborations for Diversion Programs Grant, and approved Budget Amendment #6-B. (Unanimous)
c. BOCC Boards and Commissions Assignments
The Board selected the boards and commissions on which Board members will serve during the remainder of 2023. (Unanimous)
