Swipe here please! All right Seymour family; let’s get back into the swing of things. No need to fear, your Seymour Staff is here! Dementia - Let's Talk About It
Join OCDoA’s dementia care specialists for a conversation around topics related to dementia education, living with cognitive change, and being a dementia caregiver. We will provide 15-30 minutes of education at the start of the hour, and the remaining time will be spent in conversation, Q&A, and resource sharing around the day’s topic.

The 55+ Brain is More Creative!
Recent neuroscience research has discovered a handful of biological changes that occur around age 55 that naturally bring our brains to a more creative state. A Peek at the REAL World of Downton Abbey

Explore Archery: Senior Addition
Ever wanted to give archery a try indoors? Here is your chance to pick up a bow and have some action time! We’ll give you a primer on safety and teach you the basics with both a compound and a recurve bow, then set you loose on some fun archery games like tic-tac-toe and battleship. The Gentle Art of Making Lace
An unknown writer said “Lace is thread surrounded by air.” A very simple, but appropriate description of the beautiful, handmade lace artifacts created by lacemakers. Come and meet lacemakers from the Carolinas and Virginia, see some of their lovely work, and learn about the different types of lace and how they are made. If you like, you can try out doing the simple movements of thread-filled bobbins that create these works of art on a demonstration lace pillow.

Japanese Embroidery        
Japanese embroidery is a technique that goes back 1,600+ years. We use silk and metallic fibers on silk fabrics to produce traditional and modern designs for framing. Instruction in the basic techniques is an orderly progression of phases. Open to beginners as well as current students. Potential students are welcome to visit a class, but MUST contact the instructor before enrolling. New students MUST purchase kit and supplies from instructor, at least 30 days advance notice needed.
