March is Senior Center Evaluation MonthHelp Us Help You by Completing a Survey!
Did you know that it’s very important to give your feedback on our senior centers’ programs, courses and classes? Feedback on our activities helps the staff develop better programs, and meets funding requirements. The surveys also show the impact our senior center programs have on participants’ lives, which may influence future funding.
To get feedback on all our program areas, we will collect the Senior Center Surveys during March for all our ongoing classes and programs, as well as during classes with a beginning and ending date, all year. If you are taking a virtual class one will either be emailed or mailed to you. If we fail to give you one, please ask for one by calling the front desk at other center. Visit Senior Center & Program Evaluations to take the surveys online.
If you completed a survey in September 2021 or since then, it’s time to complete another one and please remember to include your initials, the date you complete and your birthdate…this helps us to properly track the info. for data analysis.

Prescription Medications Too Expensive?Medicare’s Extra Help program reduces the price of medications for those who qualify. For those who don’t qualify for tthe Medicare Extra Help program, explore these options: - Ask your doctor and pharmacist about alternative medications that are covered on your drug plan at a lower co-pay, such as generics.
- Search for Manufacturer Discount Programs that cover your medication.
- Check the current pricing of your medications using a Drug Discount Program. In some cases, retail pricing with coupons are lower than the co-pays on your drug plan. Be aware, however that costs won’t apply to your drug plan’s deductible. Popular options include: www.goodrx.com, www.blinkhealth.com, www.northcarolinadrugcard.com
Make an appointment to meet with a certified volunteer counselor from the Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) to discuss your options. We have both in-person appointments and appointments by Zoom available by visiting our website www.orangecountync.gov/Medicare or calling 919-245-4274.
