Special Meeting Notice for November 30, 2021
ORANGE COUNTY, NC (November 23, 2021) - Pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes §153A-40, the Orange County Board of Commissioners provides notice of the following change in the 2021 meeting calendar.
As previously announced, the Orange County Board of Commissioners will meet in a closed session on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 6:00 pm “to consult with an attorney retained by the Board in order to preserve the attorney-client privilege between the attorney and the Board,” pursuant to NCGS § 143-318.11(a)(3). Two other purposes for the closed session have been added:
- “To establish, or to instruct the public body's staff or negotiating agents concerning the position to be taken by or on behalf of the public body in negotiating the price and other material terms of a contract or proposed contract for the acquisition of real property by purchase, option, exchange, or lease,” pursuant to NCGS § 143-318.11(a)(5);
- For the approval of closed session minutes.
The closed session will be conducted at the Whitted Building at 300 W. Tryon St. in Hillsborough. Per North Carolina General Statutes, the meeting will start in open session. The public may attend the opening of the meeting until the closed session begins. For further information, please contact the Clerk to the Board at 919-245-2130.
