Due to current public health concerns, the Orange County Board of Commissioners will conduct a virtual business meeting on October 19, 2021. Members of the Board of Commissioners will participate in the meeting remotely. Members of the public will be able to view and listen to the meeting and have the opportunity to provide public comment. The public may submit written comments by sending an email to
ocbocc@orangecountync.gov. Individuals who wish to speak must pre-register using the instructions included in the agenda.
As in prior meetings, the meeting will be streamed in real-time on the County’s website for public viewing/listening at
http://www.orangecountync.gov/967/Meeting-Videos. There will also be real-time broadcast on Spectrum Cable and video-recording for future television broadcast and reference on the County’s website.

1) Receive the grant project funding recommendations from the Human Relations Commission (HRC) and the Commission for the Environment for the FY 2021-22 Orange County Community Climate Action Grant Program;
2) Consider approving funding for the recommended Community Climate Action Grant projects for FY 2021-22 as outlined in the attached report; and
3) Receive and consider approving the request from the HRC to shift one point in the scoring rubric from “Time to Complete” to “Social Justice/ Racial Equity” in future rounds of grant funding.
b. Establishment of a Schools Capital Needs Work GroupThe Board will consider establishing a Schools Capital Needs Work Group to review, consider and prioritize the capital needs for the Orange County Schools district and the Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools district.
c. Establishment of a Library Services Task ForceThe Board will consider establishing a Library Services Task Force to collaborate on issues relating to the Town of Chapel Hill and Orange County library funding and inter-operability.
7. Reportsa. Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness – 2021 Data UpdateThe Board will review updated data about homelessness in Orange County submitted to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) earlier this year.

Public Comment – Written Members of the public may provide written public comment by submitting it to the ocbocc@orangecountync.gov email address. The Orange County Board of Commissioners, County Manager, County Attorney and Clerk to the Board will be copied on all of the emails that are submitted.
Public Comment – Verbal (for Items not on the Agenda, Agenda Items and Public Hearings) Members of the public are asked to contact the Clerk to the Board using the email address ocpubliccomment@orangecountync.gov no later than 3:00 PM on the day of the meeting and indicate they wish to speak during the meeting.
When submitting the request to speak, include the following:
• The date of the meeting
• The agenda item (example: 6-a) you wish to speak on
• Your name, address, email and phone number
Prior to the meeting, speakers will be emailed Zoom access information and instructions on how to make comments during the live meeting.
