Applicants Needed for Orange County
Broadband Task Force
ORANGE COUNTY, NC (December 30, 2020) – One major way residents can have a positive impact on the future of Orange County is to volunteer to serve on the various County advisory boards and commissions.
The Orange County Board of Commissioners is currently recruiting for the Orange County Broadband Task Force. This advisory group will be charged with the following:
- Discuss broadband solutions to improve the quality of high speed internet services to Orange County residents;
- Recommend a plan to the Board of Orange County Commissioners to expand reliable high-speed internet services to all county residents and businesses.
This is a newly formed group and there are a total of twelve (12) positions on this Advisory Board and five (5) of the positions will be filled by Orange County residents. The resident positions will be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC).
Background preferences: Due to the technical nature of this board the Board of County Commissioners prefers applicants to have a background or relevant experience in telecommunication networks, public infrastructure projects, customer service or residency in an underserved area of the county.
If interested, apply at www.orangecountync.gov/boards .
Orange County strives for diversity on volunteer advisory boards. Minorities are encouraged to apply. Applicants must reside in Orange County. Volunteers appointed by the Board of County Commissioners have an opportunity to influence the way of life in Orange County.
