[ARCHIVED] Orange County winter weather advisory - Dec. 8, 2019
Winter Storm Diego is expected to impact Orange County beginning Saturday night/early Sunday morning. Travel conditions are expected to deteriorate rapidly once snow begins falling. The National Weather Service has expressed increasing concerns the storm may also include freezing rain and ice accumulations. Orange County public safety officials advise residents to stay off the roads to allow crews to clear the roads and to allow emergency vehicles to be able to respond to requests for service.
Orange County Solid Waste Convenience and Recycling Centers, Orange County Public Library and Orange County Animal Services will be closed Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, due to Winter Storm Diego.
A decision about Monday services will be announced as soon as it has been made.
Winter Storm Diego is expected to bring significant snow to Orange County on Sunday, along with wind gusts up to 25 mph. Power company officials are expecting significant power outages across North Carolina throughout the impact area. Below is the contact information to report power outages.
