Orange County has converted 15 vehicles to run on both propane and gasoline using a bi-fuel system. This pilot project was completed in partnership with Alliance Autogas, enabling the County to install an on-site propane fueling station owned and maintained by Alliance for convenient refueling.
About the Project
This project has allowed the Orange County Sheriff's Office and Environmental Health inspectors to lower the greenhouse gas emissions from these vehicles by 10% while lowering their operating cost, extending their range, and increasing their resilience. These vehicles are part of an overall initiative by Orange County to incorporate alternative fuels and reduce emissions.
