Davis Environment & Agricultural Center (1020 US 70 West, Hillsborough, NC 27278) or Online for an event centered on the book "Escape from Slavery: The True Story of My Ten Years in Captivity and My Journey to Freedom in America" by Francis Bok with Edward Tivnan. This memoir tells the story of Bok's life as a child enslaved in Sudan and his incredible journey toward freedom.
This event will feature passages from the book, followed by a discussion facilitated by the Orange County Human Relations Commission. Whether you have read the book or not, you are welcome to participate and engage in meaningful dialogue about the themes of slavery, freedom, and resilience.
This event is an opportunity to come together as a community, gain a deeper understanding of crucial issues, and be inspired by Francis Bok's story of triumph over adversity.
