My name is Antonia Cortes Sanchez and I work with Family Success Alliance in Zone 4 as a navigator. I was born in Juventino Rosas, Guanajuato, and I immigrated to North Carolina when I was 7 years old and I love living here because of the beautiful people, cities, and history. I am a proud mama to a beautiful young lady, and a handsome baby boy. To me, like many other Hispanic families, my family is everything to me and all I do is for them. Like many other parents, I want my children to succeed in their education and I know that for that to happen children should have a strong support from their teachers and parents.
When I heard of Family Success Alliance and their mission all I could think of was that I wanted to become part of all of it. I am here to provide a voice to the voiceless, support the ones that need help, and overall make the community better. I am very passionate about equality for everyone no matter race, gender, sexual preference, or status. Our children are the future – what better way to have a better community than to teach and guide the leaders of tomorrow.
“We did not come to fear the future. We came here to shape it.” – Barack Obama, Former president of the United States.
