Veteran Services

Overview

Orange County Veterans Services Office offers a wide range of services to our nation's veterans, service members and their families. Our office provides advice on Veterans Administration benefits and assistance with filing and tracking those claims as well as obtaining, retaining, or reinstating numerous benefits offered by the federal, state, and local government.

Who is Eligible?

You may be eligible for VA health care benefits if you are a veteran.

You may be eligible for other VA benefits if you are a:

• veteran
• veteran's dependent
• surviving spouse or child of a deceased veteran
• member of the Reserves or National Guard
• Active Duty service member

Applying for Services

We offer assistance at our office at Orange County Department of Social Services, 113 Mayo Street, Hillsborough, NC, 28278.

Burial Benefits 

The Veterans Administration offers certain benefits and services to honor our Nation's deceased veterans.

Dependent and Survivor Benefits 

Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) may be payable to survivors.

Disability Benefits 

The Veterans Administration administers two disability programs. Both pay monthly benefits to disabled veterans.

Other Services 

An array of other services are provided and include health care, life insurance, education & training, vocational rehabilitation, and home loans.
