TO
THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE
Directions
from Burlington Area:
-
Take
Interstate I-40/85 East into Orange County. Take I-85 North at the
split. Take exit 164 (Hillsborough). Turn left at the bottom of
the ramp onto Churton St. Travel north on Churton St. until you go
over the river bridge and enter historic Hillsborough. From the
interstate, Margaret Lane is the 5th stop light. Turn right onto
Margaret Lane. The County Courthouse is the building on your right as
you turn. Our office is located on the ground floor of the courthouse, on the side.
From
Raleigh Area:
-
Take
Interstate 40 West into Orange County. Take exit 261, the Hillsborough
exit. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp, this road becomes Churton
St. Travel north to the 8th stop light. This is Margaret Lane,
turn right. The County Courthouse is the building on your right as
you turn. Our office is located on the ground floor of the courthouse, on the side. .
From
Chapel Hill:
-
Take
Airport Rd north from Columbia Street. Cross over I-40. Continue
North on this road ("New" Hwy 86). Travel approx. 6-7 miles
and go over Interstate 85. Go to the stop sign and turn left onto Hwy
70 Business. Go to the Stop light. This road is Churton St.
Turn right onto Churton St and go to the first stop light. Turn right
onto Margaret Lane. The County Courthouse is the building on your right as
you turn. Our office is located on the ground floor of the courthouse, on the side. .
TO
THE DETENTION FACILITY

The
Orange County Jail is located at 125 Court Street in Hillsborough, North
Carolina.

Follow
the same directions as provided for our Sheriff's Office but with one
modification:
-
When
you turn onto Margaret Lane from Churton Street, the first street on the
left before you reach our Sheriff's Office is Court Street. Turn
left onto Court Street. The jail is the large building on the right.
Parking is available along Court St. and King Street.
